The Dark Sow - Your protection in the dark!

Mörksuggan has been manufactured in Avesta, Dalarna, by Janersgården Hantverk since 1956. Each Mörksugga is a craft and carries Janersgården's trademark on its neck. The dark sows are available in sizes from 5 cm up to 20 cm. It is the size of the dark sow itself, the tail not included. Comes in a white gift box. No one knows how old she is, maybe she is older than the forest she lives in. Many have seen a quick glimpse of her, usually without knowing what they saw. She can be seen near people's homes, she appears at the edge of the field of view, out of the corner of her eye and before you have time to focus your gaze, she is gone. The dark sow has ancient origins, even though it has only taken a visible shape during the last half century, it has been in the vernacular for a long time. They come from several parishes around the southern part of Lake Siljan; Rättvik, Leksand, Djura, Gagnef and Ål. There, Mörksuggan is described as a creature to scare children with when they want to run outside for too long in the evenings. Nowadays it is also said to protect against the dark. He who has a nightmare in his home never has to be afraid of the powers of darkness, for the powers of darkness eat up the nightmare.
